Ube, also known as purple yam, is widely used in the Philippines as an ingredient for desserts, bakery products, ice cream, beverages, and other processed foods.
For this drying application, the customer needed to dry steamed ground ube rather than fresh whole ube or ube slices. A total of 81.2 kg of prepared ube was loaded into an IKE AIO-LY300 heat pump food dehydrator.
The AIO-LY300, formerly known as the AIO-DF300, is an integrated commercial and industrial food dehydrator designed for controlled batch drying. For this ube batch, the drying temperature was set at 70°C, with a 10% humidity setting.
After approximately 7–8 hours of drying, the final measured moisture content of the ube reached approximately 5%–6%.
This Philippines project provides actual drying data for food processors looking for a commercial ube dehydrator or purple yam drying machine.
The material in this project was steamed ground ube. Since the ube had already been steamed and broken into relatively small pieces, the customer required a controlled drying process to further reduce its moisture content.
Country: Philippines
Material: Steamed ground ube
Drying Machine: IKE AIO-LY300
Loading Quantity: 81.2 kg
Drying Temperature: 70°C
Humidity Setting: 10%
Drying Time: Approx. 7–8 hours
Final Moisture: Approx. 5%–6%
Based on the customer's material form, batch size, and drying requirements, the IKE AIO-LY300 food dehydrator was used for this application.
The IKE AIO-LY300 is an all-in-one heat pump food dehydrator suitable for commercial batch drying. The drying chamber and heat pump drying system are integrated into one unit, making installation and operation convenient for food processing businesses.
For this Philippines ube application, the AIO-LY300 provided the required loading space and controllable drying conditions for the 81.2 kg batch of steamed ground ube.
The AIO-LY300 allows operators to set the drying temperature and humidity according to different materials and drying requirements.
For this batch:
Temperature: 70°C
Humidity Setting: 10%
The AIO-LY300 is suitable for commercial food processors that require larger capacity than a small cabinet dehydrator while still operating with a batch drying process.
The 81.2 kg ube batch in this project was comfortably handled within the machine's available drying capacity.
The all-in-one structure combines the drying chamber and heat pump system, eliminating the need to build a separate drying room for this equipment configuration.
In addition to ube and purple yam, the AIO-LY300 can be used for drying fruits, vegetables, herbs, meat products, and other food materials by adjusting the drying program according to product requirements.
Before loading the ube, the AIO-LY300 was preheated for approximately 30 minutes until the required drying condition was established.
The actual drying settings and results were:
| Item | Actual Data |
|---|---|
| Machine | IKE AIO-LY300 |
| Previous Model Name | AIO-DF300 |
| Material | Steamed ground ube |
| Loading Quantity | 81.2 kg |
| Drying Temperature | 70°C |
| Humidity Setting | 10% |
| Preheating Time | Approx. 30 minutes |
| Moisture After 2 Hours | Approx. 13%–16% |
| Total Drying Time | Approx. 7–8 hours |
| Final Moisture Content | Approx. 5%–6% |
These parameters are based on this specific batch of steamed ground ube. Different material forms, loading quantities, initial moisture levels, layer thicknesses, and final product requirements may require different drying settings.
Before loading, the AIO-LY300 was preheated for approximately 30 minutes to establish the required drying conditions.
The prepared ube was spread across the drying trays to increase its exposure to circulating heated air.
A total of 81.2 kg was loaded for this drying batch.
The drying temperature was set at 70°C, with the humidity setting at 10%.
During operation, the AIO-LY300 circulated heated air through the drying chamber while moisture was gradually removed from the steamed ground ube.
After approximately two hours, a representative ube sample was checked.
Measured Moisture Content: 13%–16%
The material therefore required additional drying to reach the target moisture level.
After approximately 7–8 hours of total drying time, the final sample was checked.
Final Measured Moisture Content: 5%–6%
The steamed ground ube had reached the target moisture range established for this batch.

The actual drying results demonstrate the use of the IKE AIO-LY300 heat pump dehydrator for commercial ube drying.
These results apply to this specific Philippines batch. They should be used as reference data rather than fixed drying parameters for all ube products.
Different ube forms, including sliced ube and other prepared purple yam products, may require different drying temperatures and drying times.
IKE provides heat pump food dehydrators for different commercial and industrial ube processing capacities.
